Today, the European Commission and the High Representative presented a Joint Communication on strengthening Economic Security.
The Commission has proposed a new Multiannual Financial Framework of almost EUR 2 trillion. The proposal includes a sizeable increase of the AMIF, BMVI and ISF Funds, tripling subsidies. With additional funding from the EU Thematic Facility, the HOME Funds should receive EUR 74 billion in total.
The Commission adopted the first list of 13 Strategic Projects on strategic raw materials located outside of the EU, including in overseas countries or territories. The Strategic Projects will diversify the EU’s sources of supply and increase economic security.
