On 15 and 16 April 2025, the Lithuanian Qualifications and VET Development Centre (KPMPC) hosted an EQAVET peer review in Vilnius, Lithuania. The event gathered EQAVET Network members from the Czech Republic, Latvia, Malta, Romania, and Serbia, who acted as peer reviewers. The focus of the peer review was on Lithuania’s system for quality assurance in Continuing Vocational Education and Training (CVET), particularly the planned CVET quality assurance manual.

The host introduced the CVET quality assurance manual, which aims to detail measures and processes for CVET quality assurance for both state-funded and private VET providers offering formal VET. Designed as a self-assessment tool, the manual is based on existing methodical recommendations for VET institutions. During the peer review, participants provided feedback on the proposed quality framework and the general criteria and indicators for self-assessment for CVET providers, along with recommendations for effective implementation.

The peer review included presentations from national organisations such as the EQAVET National Reference Point, KPMPC, and the Ministry of Education, and was also enriched by a panel discussion with three VET providers. Overall, the peer review allowed participants to reflect on the scope and format of the planned CVET QA manual and the self-assessment framework and process. They recognised the strengths of the current system and welcomed efforts to support CVET providers’ quality assurance.

Read the flash report summarising the main outcomes of the discussion.

Additionally, a separate report containing detailed feedback from the peer reviewers will be shared with the host country.
