Following a first call of the UTM City2City Programme that connected 28 cities worldwide through 11 pairings, the UTM is launching a second call, inviting new cities to express their interest to join the programme before 8 January 2026.
The UTM City2City Programme is a new global twinning initiative connecting cities in dynamic peer-learning to co-create practical solutions for net-zero, resilient, people-centered urban futures. With funding from the European Commission, this programme aims to improve cities’ capacity to design, implement and manage sustainable and innovative urban practices in integrated and participative ways. The programme will help cities identify and scale new joint pilot actions on a specific topic, with support from the UTM Global Innovation Alliance.
The programme is already connecting 28 cities worldwide through 11 pairings to cooperate, identify and co-create solutions to pilot innovation and advance net-zero journeys. More information on cities currently participating in the programme can be found here.
The UTM is now looking to select more motivated cities from the UTM Cohort to take part in the programme until the end of 2026. Cities are invited to apply online and express their interest to join the UTM City2City programme before 8 January 2026, via a brief questionnaire form.
