The Security Research Event (SRE) 2025 was held in Warsaw on June 24 and 25 under the theme Boosting security through EU-based innovation. During the two days the SRE brought together
- more than 600 on-site participants,
- more than 500 online participants,
- more than 50 EU funded projects’ booths and
- over 90 bilateral matchmaking meetings.
The event showcased innovative solutions and facilitated discussions on critical topics such as crisis preparedness, border management, resilient infrastructure and the fight against crime. A highlight of the event was the Security Innovation Award 2025, which honoured innovative projects that are shaping a safer future for Europe. The top award went to the CRIMSON solution, noted for its capability to secure public spaces and critical infrastructures against various threats.
The event also featured engaging discussions and, within the framework of the SRE, an Implementation Dialogue led by Commissioner Magnus Brunner was held. Participants from diverse sectors shared insights on the challenges facing EU security and emphasised the importance of robust supply chains for resilient infrastructure. This event not only celebrated past achievements but also laid the groundwork for ongoing advancements in civil security across Europe.
