The Institut Català de la Salut (ICS) has published its Environmental Statement 2023, which is now equipped with interactive data visualisation via Power BI. This allows users to create customised reports focused on the data relevant to them.
The Institut Català de la Salut (ICS) is the largest healthcare organisation in Catalonia. For more than fifteen years, it has been implementing EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) in several of its centres, gradually expanding its reach. So far, 194 primary care centres have been registered. Each year, the results are published in an Environmental Statement—not only as a transparency initiative, but also to engage the public.
This year, for the first time, the declaration has been prepared using a data visualisation tool (Power BI), which offers a more interactive, accessible, and transparent way to explore the environmental data. Users can now view customised reports focused on data relevant to them, such as the medical centre they regularly attend.

This new tool allows users to explore environmental information in an intuitive and dynamic way, helping to improve understanding of the environmental impact of healthcare facilities and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in environmental management.
Additionally, the statement is accompanied by a video presentation explaining what the Environmental Statement is and detailing the changes introduced this year, as well as a podcast.
