EPA: Comprehensive Initiative to Combat Cyberbullying to take place in Brussels

New European Initiative Aims to Create Safe and Creative Spaces for Children

A groundbreaking European initiative has been launched under the title “Safe and Creative Spaces for Children: A Comprehensive Initiative to Combat Cyberbullying.” The program addresses one of today’s most pressing challenges for young people: cyberbullying.

While the risks of online harassment are growing, organizers of the initiative stress that the solution cannot be confined to digital environments alone. The spaces where children learn, play, and socialize—schools, parks, cultural centers, gardens, and playgrounds—play a decisive role in shaping their well-being and resilience.

The initiative aims to create a new generation of child-friendly environments, combining safety, inclusivity, and creativity. Indoors, secure and nurturing learning settings will be promoted, while outdoors, new public spaces will be designed to encourage imagination, creativity, and social cohesion.

Broad Participation
The call for participation is open to a wide range of organizations: those designing or managing child-friendly spaces, design studios, manufacturers, local authorities, NGOs, educational institutions, start-ups, and innovators. Institutions working in green energy, zero-carbon projects, recycling, and sustainable waste management are also invited to take part, aligning the initiative with broader climate and sustainability goals.

Strategic Benefits
Beyond the immediate focus on children’s safety and creativity, the initiative also offers participating institutions significant strategic advantages. By engaging in this program, organizations will strengthen their visibility at the European and international levels, gaining recognition in relation to sector-specific projects and tenders. The initiative is designed to provide long-term benefits by positioning participants as trusted references in future EU and international funding opportunities.

Hybrid Events and International Visibility
The initiative will feature hybrid events, combining physical and online participation, ensuring broad accessibility and outreach. Highlights include an international press conference at the United Nations Building in Brussels, along with dedicated sessions that will showcase innovative approaches to child-friendly and climate-friendly spaces.

Looking Ahead to Expo 2030 Riyadh
Organizers emphasize that this initiative not only addresses current challenges but also lays the groundwork for future global engagement. Participation in the program during 2025 and 2026 will serve as a strategic stepping stone towards involvement in Expo 2030 Riyadh, offering institutions the opportunity to showcase their commitment to children’s well-being and sustainable development on an even larger stage.

By bridging the digital and physical worlds, the initiative aims to protect children, unleash their creative potential, and promote a safer, greener, and more inclusive future.
