Commission imposes anti-dumping duties on passenger car and light lorry tyres from China

The definitive anti-dumping duties imposed range from 4.3% to 45.3%. The imposition of definitive duties follows an investigation which found that imports of passenger-car and light-lorry tyres from China were entering the EU at dumped prices. This is causing injury to the EU’s tyre industry, which employs over 80,00 people across 14 EU countries.

The scope of the product investigated extended to a large variety of types and sizes of pneumatic, rubber tyres with a load index below 121.

In 2024, EU consumption of such tyres amounted to some 330 million units, in a market worth over €18 billion. Imports from China that year totalled almost 93 million units (worth over €2.5 billion), translating into a 28% market share.

A parallel anti-subsidy investigation covering the same product scope is currently ongoing and will be concluded in December this year.
