Commission acts against unfairly traded glyoxylic acid from China

Today the Commission imposed anti-dumping measures on imports of glyoxylic acid from China.

The duties, which range from 29.2% to 124.9%, were imposed after an investigation demonstrated that imports of glyoxylic acid from China had been dumped on the EU market and were causing damage to EU industry.

Glyoxylic acid is a chemical that is primarily used in the pharmaceutical, food, fertiliser and cosmetics industries. It is an intermediate in the industrial synthesis of antibiotics, vanillin, chelated fertilisers, and allantoin, and is also used in personal care products.
