EU opens last accession negotiating cluster with Albania on resources, agriculture and cohesion

Today, the seventh meeting of the Accession Conference with Albania marked the opening of negotiations on the so-called cluster 5: resources, agriculture and cohesion. This cluster is the last remaining and covers notably: agriculture and fisheries, food safety and cohesion policies.

Nikšić to become European Capital of Culture 2030 in a non-EU country

On 21 October 2025, the chairperson of the European Capitals of Culture independent expert panel announced in Brussels, that they are recommending Nikšić (Montenegro) to become the European Capital of Culture 2030 in an EFTA/EEA country, candidate country or potential candidate for EU membership.
