DG MOVE is pleased to announce the publication of the new European Transport Corridor and Horizontal Priorities work plans.
Following on from the revised TEN-T Regulation, this first edition of the work plans outlines the progress achieved to date, highlights remaining investment needs, assesses infrastructure compliance with TEN-T requirements, and identifies the investments most needed to implement the Corridors and the horizontal priorities in the years ahead. Each work plan also identifies persistent bottlenecks that must be removed quickly to ensure the Corridors function fully and effectively.
The work plan for the European Maritime Space sets out the priorities for strengthening the maritime dimension of the TEN-T, with a particular focus on ports, maritime connections and their integration with the wider European transport network. The work plan for the European Rail Traffic Management system (ERTMS) was already published in February and sets out the status, challenges and way forward for ERTMS deployment across the entire TEN-T rail network.
These documents are the result of a collective effort by all stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of TEN-T policy, including the European Coordinators, the Commission services, Ministries of Transport, infrastructure managers, and the regional and local stakeholders that stand to benefit from new infrastructure.
