One year after its creation, the EU Space ISAC (Information Sharing and Analysis Centre) held its first-ever General Meeting on June 4–5, 2025, in Madrid. In the presence of the European Commission and EUSPA, this milestone gathering marked the official endorsement of a joint declaration, laying the foundation for a shared vision of resilience across the European space sector.
A Year of Strong Growth
Established in April 2024 as part of the EU Space Strategy for Security and Defence (EUSSSD), the EU Space ISAC was born from a clear ambition: to strengthen the resilience and protection of Europe’s space assets in the face of emerging and complex threats. Its core mission is to provide a trusted framework for collaboration and information exchange among public and private space stakeholders across Europe.
From its original group of 12 founding members, the ISAC has grown in just one year to 50 members from 13 different European countries, including major players like Airbus, ArianeGroup, Telespazio, Avio, and public institutions such as ESA and CNES, alongside innovative startups and SMEs such as CyberInflight, Priamos, Neuraspace, and ICEYE. This diversity highlights the broad commitment to strengthening the entire space value chain under a unified approach to security.
A Declaration to Solidify Common Goals
The key highlight of this first General Meeting was the adoption of the EU Space ISAC Declaration, a cornerstone document calling for collective action against rising threats to Europe’s space infrastructure.
“Now is the time to unite, act, and build the collective resilience that will ensure space remains a pillar of Europe’s security, sovereignty, and prosperity.”
The Declaration emphasizes the importance of proactive information sharing, industry-to-industry collaboration, and the inclusion of SMEs and emerging actors in building a resilient ecosystem. It also positions the ISAC as a central hub for strategic dialogue, helping bridge operational realities with regulatory developments and addressing fragmented initiatives with a unified voice.
An Open Platform for a Resilient Space Future
More than just a network, the EU Space ISAC now positions itself as Europe’s trusted resilience hub for space security. It aims to become a reference for preparedness, incident response advisory, and policy alignment, supporting the protection and continuity of space-based infrastructure and services across all domains.
This inaugural General Meeting marks the beginning of a new chapter for the ISAC, more structured, more visible, and more united in its mission to secure Europe’s future in space.
